It depends! Is it solid and well-built? Does it have sentimental value or fit your space like a glove? If the price is right but the color isn't, it's probably worth refinishing. One note of caution though: don't mess with an actual vintage or antique piece without consulting an expert first!
Facebook Marketplace is the most wonderfully frustrating furniture shop there is. I don't see the ugly, I see the possibilities. No matter how many posts I have to dig through, I always prefer shopping for used furniture online. Besides, furniture stores give me hives!
I can get lucky and find just the right table or chair on day one, or sometimes it can be day 15 before someone posts what I'm looking for. I won't buy anything that has been painted with chalk paint EVER, and I won't buy anything without seeing it in person first. After we find it, the refinishing process (if needed) takes another week.
